Deptford Goth

November

So weirdly i actually first heard these guys in TK-Max where my app sound hound cam in useful! The singer is called Daniel Woolhouse.

The song i heard was called Union from, and i'm enchanted by the lyrics and melody! It was featured in the film 'Signal'.
Personally this is one of my favorites by them, the music video is really interesting as well.

His latest album (available on vinyls :* ) is called The Lovers and leans towards making his lyrics more prominent in the song in ccomparisonto his previous ones. It features R&B, synth pop and soul. These labels make me want to shy away immediately but after listening i had found i had fallen head over heels.

Max Frost

November

Max Frost is a quickly growing sensation who already has many fans around the world.
He is most known for his song 'White Lies' but has other songs such as 'Glow Long' and 'Nice and Slow'

His music videos are emotional and captivating, and tell a story, controversial to many main stream artists presently, and his lyrics always relate. At the moment he is filming another music video (Indicated by recent Twitter and Facebook posts) which I, among many other people are looking forwards to seeing.
Max Frost who sings also plays a range of guitars in his songs as well as during live performances.

To Kill A King

September

This months recommend band is

To Kill a King are a band i'm loving at the moment. I was first introduced to them through Bastille - who i also recommend - who did a session with them. They were also Bastille's support act during their recent tour.
To Kill a King is most compared to bands such as The Nationals, Grizzly Bear and Mumford and Sons.

Taken from their album Cannibals with Cutlery is the song Children Who Start Fires which is a particular favorite of mine. You can listen to this below.

Another one that I love is Bloody Shirt. In comparison to their over songs they have taken quite a different approach, but still have the lovely poetic lyrics that I can't get out my head.
